John Leithoff

John Leithoff is a Midwest-based artifact authenticator with hands-on experience studying and evaluating prehistoric relics. Growing up in Pike County, Illinois, he developed an early interest in artifacts and built a strong foundation through years of collecting and close involvement in the regional relic community. John has worked alongside longtime authenticator Roy Motley, gaining practical experience in examining material characteristics, workmanship, and signs of age or alteration. His familiarity with Midwestern flint types and stone materials is supported by both field exposure and an extensive personal study collection. His background reflects continued learning, direct mentorship experience, and active participation in the artifact collecting and authentication field.
